The Role
The Bartender is a key part of the guest experience at Suser Restaurant Group, responsible for crafting exceptional drinks and delivering outstanding hospitality from behind the bar. This role requires a passion for the craft, an engaging personality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment — all while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and service. 

Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently, following standard recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Greet guests warmly, take drink and food orders, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on cocktails, beer, wine, and menu items
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout the shift, including glassware, garnishes, and supplies
  • Monitor guest consumption responsibly and adhere to all alcohol service laws and regulations, including checking identification
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and in accordance with company cash handling policies
  • Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Build rapport with guests to create a welcoming and memorable bar experience that encourages repeat visits
  • Set up and break down the bar before and after each shift, ensuring the bar is properly stocked and cleaned for the next service
  • Monitor and communicate inventory levels, alerting management when supplies need to be replenished
  • Assist with training and mentoring new bar staff as needed
  • Uphold all company policies, health codes, and sanitation standards at all times

What We're Looking For
 
  • 1-2 years of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant or bar environment preferred
  • Solid knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine
  • Michigan TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred
  • Strong guest service skills with an outgoing, engaging personality
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong cash handling and basic math skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds regularly
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol per Michigan state law
